Welcome to 60 Turning 60

Hello All.
Welcome to the first edition of the 60 Turning 60 Blog.
I have been writing about The Class of 1968 for more than 2 years--
now I'm going public
We're Baby Boomers and we're nearing Social Security age...

Some of the Questions I will -hopefully-work at answering are..
  • What's going on with us?
  • What do we believe?
  • What have we learned from our 60 years on this EARTH?
  • Are we kind and thoughtful or snitty and mean?
  • What are our personal charities?
  • Have we thought of what we want in our obituaries?
  • What is our legacy? Our Career? Our Children? Our Life?
  • Where will we retire? To Gulf Shores. Where we live now? To a retirement/assisted living? Where are we headed?
  • Would be like to travel the country or the world?

  2. -i am enjoying life. slowing down a little and picking up a lot of the things that interested me way back when--like knitting and photography--am learning to take both to higher levels
-i believe this life is the only certain thing we have so we should cherish it and enjoy it.... and i believe the choices we make are the only real things we own
    -to be patient
-i hope mostly kind, if not always thoughtful
-helping friends (and others) in need in ways that do not usually involve money
-am working on it--do want a friend to bring her African American gospel group to sing---song I particularly like is :And He Will Lift You Up"...want to be buried with 5 or more generations of my family at little church outside Camden AL
-i leave a book, several chapbooks of poetry, and some short stories, as well as photographs---most important I leave two wonderful sons
-I want to retire to France part-time and to the farm part-time
-i am lucky to have always traveled--am more interested now in "staying"in a foreign country than traveling

  3. Great idea! What a fun way to share info and just put your thoughts out there. We are all steadily aging and this makes it more fun to deal with!
